Baits Used in Freshwater Fishing

By Michael Russell Probably the most universal of all natural baits is the worm. The more easily obtained common garden worm is a good standby for the big, pencil thick variety found in shady gullies between hills along sub-tropical rain forests. They can also be found in marshy, fertile river flats. The more active the worm, the better it presents to the fish. Worms are also bred as commercial ventures for anglers and these days, also for composting and environmental destruction of waste matter. One of the best methods to harvest worms is to lay a hessian bag in a shady spot, keep it permanently damp and place vegetable peelings underneath it. Another recommended bait is the grub. Many anglers swear that the odour which emanates from the maggots of the big moths when pierced by a hook can be detected from a great distance by fish. Grubs have a reputation as top bait for the inland angler. Grubs can usually be located by removing the top few inches of soil from around the base of a tree. They can also be located in the timbers of trees where that live out their larval stage of their development. They kill the tree as they eat their way into its heart and small holes are a giveaway as to their presence. In some areas frogs are suitable bait. Not a popular or well-known bait, but nevertheless the small brown frog usually found under loose bark is the pick of the frogs as bait. The tadpole is effective bait for trout when thrown in the shallow streams among weed beds. Another bait anglers can use when others are in short supply is the freshwater mussel. These hard-shelled molluscs can usually be found at the river edge or on the beds of the rivers and their soft, fleshy centre is bait some fish find irresistible. The flat bottom of a farm dam is a good place to find crayfish baits. Their presence is usually indicated by small burrowing holes at the edge of the water line. They can also be found under rocks in small streams and creeks. They are generally active at night and have even been seen scampering across dew-covered ground. In winter they tend to burrow deep into the mud of the bottom. The freshwater shrimp, probably the most successful of all the freshwater baits, are seasonal in their availability. Most fish will rarely turn away from a nicely presented freshwater shrimp and at the height of summer they are present in vast numbers. Traps are the best method of capturing the shrimp. Usually a bucket shaped metal container with holes and baited with a dead fish is an efficient method of capture. Perhaps their sense of smell leads them into the bucket to feed off the fish and when retrieved from the water, the bucket drains of water, leaving the entrapped shrimp behind. Areas to search for the shrimp are at the water’s edge next to weed, rocks and algae-covered timber. They have a similar appearance to the prawn and are excellent bait for any species of fish. Live fish are excellent bait and it is a widespread practice to use them. In dark, murky waters the big-mouthed fish are attracted to these baits by their movement more so than their appearance or characteristics. Before using baits such as those mentioned, local regulations must be checked as it is prohibited in some trout waters to use such baits which may compromise the habitat. Indeed the European Carp, which is in plague proportions in Australian rivers and destroys the habitat of the natural fish, are a classic example of what can happen when live bait are released and allowed to thrive. Baits used for trout are almost always live and usually consists of the small water-based animals from the same area as the fish. Trout do appreciate variety however and can also be taken using grasshoppers, beetles, moths, ants, worms and insects. 3 Reasons Why Learning About Body Language Will Increase Your Chance of Success With Women

By Teddy Shabba Learning how to read and understand body language can be quite beneficial for men wanting to have better success with women. At the same time a man who has low self-esteem or a weak inner game is simply going to have a new set of skills that he doesn’t believe in. For men with or developing a strong inner game here are just three of the benefits of learning about body language. 1.Tell When A Women is Attracted to You- At least ten percent of women are attracted to you right now as you are and many men don’t even know it. Knowing a woman is attracted to you 9 out of 10 times is going to change not only how you look at her but how you interact with her as well. 2.Create Sexual or Romantic Interest- The only way most men know how to create this type of interest is by telling her, buying her things, or pure luck. Once you know how to use your body language to generate this type of interest in women you will see your success rate soar. 3.Create a Sense of Trust- Many times a man doesn’t get the girl because he didn’t create a strong sense of trust in her. If a woman doesn’t trust you it will be hard to get anywhere with her. On the other hand once a woman does trust you, you can get her to do things she wouldn’t normally do if you want. Surprisingly knowing all about body language if you change one or two things in your approach with women it can have a big affect on how easily she will trust you. Learning body language can be a very powerful tool in a man’s mental tool box when it comes to being successful with women. If he understands it is a tool and not a magic wand, it can help you get the girl but it can’t get you every girl. Cash Is King In Cosmetic Surgery

By Ricardo Silva Paying for cosmetic surgery can be an expensive proposition given the fact health insurance rarely covers it. You can finance the surgery, but cash is a much better solution. Next time you are at a gathering with even one medical professional, make sure to ask them about their view of health insurance companies. Then make sure to take a step back. Physicians hate health insurance companies because they cut the invoices issued by the doctors. Essentially, the health insurance companies take the position the doctor will have to accept reduced bills if he wants access to the patients covered by the plan. With cosmetic surgery procedures, health insurance is rarely an issue. Cosmetic surgery is rarely considered medically necessary, so your policy is going to reject any claim you submit. While you might think this calm any payment issues with your cosmetic surgeon, there are still steps you can take to get a better deal. Many people pay for plastic surgery with credit cards or financing. In both situations, the cosmetic surgeon is going to get dinged on his billings. Although the reduction is less than with health insurance companies, it can still add up pretty quickly. You can use this situation to your advantage. Cash is king in the cosmetic surgery profession. First, the payment is immediate. Second, the physician actually gets his or her full bill paid. If you can scrape together the cash to pay for the entire procedure, you should do so. In exchange for paying in cash, however, you should ask for a discount from the surgeon. Although there is no law or regulation requiring surgeons to issue a discount, most will do so. It will not hurt to ask. What if you do not have enough cash to pay the bill all at once? A number of creative cosmetic surgeons have an answer for you. More and more practices are letting patients make payments in advance of their surgery. Essentially, you make payments each month or on an agreed upon schedule until the entire fee is paid. One the payments are complete, the surgical procedure is undertaken. Cash is king in the cosmetic surgery profession. If you understand this, you can use it to get a discount on your surgery and make your cosmetic surgeon very happy. Tips For Buying A Sewing Machine Online

By Susanne Myers You can get some great deals on sewing machines when you purchase them online. Companies that sell them dont have to worry about the overhead of a brick and mortar store and you get the convenience of having the sewing machine shipped to your front door. Know What You Want The drawback of buying anything online is that you cant see it in person, give it a try and get a feel for the quality of the item, including a sewing machine. I prefer to browse through the local stores and find the model I want before I go online to find a great deal on it. You may want to find a few comparable machines that you will consider buying and then start your online search for the best deal. Buy From A Reputable Source Buy your machine from a reputable source. You want to make sure that what you are buying is the genuine item and in perfect condition. Remember, you want be able to look at the actual machine before you buy. All you get is a stock picture and an item description. Return Policy In case there is an issue with the machine, its not working, wasnt what you expected or was damaged in shipping; you need to check out the online stores return policy before you buy. Pay attention to how long you have to return the item for a refund and make sure you thoroughly check out the machine in that timeframe. Most stores will have a 30-day return policy. Will you be responsible for shipping charges to return the item to the store, or will the store cover it? Having to ship the sewing machine across country to return it could get quite expensive. Shipping Costs Since we are on the topic of shipping costs, pay attention to how much each company charges for shipping and handling when you are comparison shopping. You may get what seems like a great deal on the sewing machine, but then pay much more for shipping and handling than you would have at a different store. Use common sense and do your homework while you shop for a sewing machine online and you can get a great deal on a machine that is perfect for you and have it delivered to your front door. Straight Talk About Stretch Marks - Treatment and Prevention

By Melissa Brooks One of the most common skin care questions asked is: How do I get rid of Stretch marks? There are ways to treat these unsightly marks and ways to avoid getting them in the first place. If you understand some fundamentals, providing skin care for yourself is easy. Let’s get some basics down first, then we will move on to how to get rid of stretch marks. If you looked at a cross-section of your skin, it would look like a lattice or mesh of connected tissue. As you age, this mesh loses its ability to hold moisture. It also becomes weak - kind of like a rubber band that has been stretched over and over again. In fact, that is a perfect way to describe it - your skin loses elasticity. This happens because levels of various proteins in your skin are broken down with time. These proteins are needed to keep the skin firm and elastic. This is an important concept, because this is at the heart of stretch marks. Stretch marks are formed because when the skin stretches very rapidly, collagen synthesis is disrupted and the dermis (the under layer of skin) develops tiny micro tears. These show up as stretch marks. So what can you do? For clarification - we are talking generally about abdominal stretch marks caused by pregnancy. Stretch marks also show up on people who gain a lot of weight and even on body builders. For our purposes, let’s just talk about the stretch marks that are most common. Just keep in mind that the prevention and treatment is consistent for various types. Some key points in the treatment and prevention of stretch marks: First, gain slowly. The skin is remarkably elastic, but it can’t handle super-fast growth. When you become pregnant, try to stick to your doctors recommended weight gain recommendation. And just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you should start eating 5000 calories a day! Just try to be sensible about what you eat and how much you eat - this will prevent a dramatic weight gain and thus help prevent stretch marks from forming. Second, lotion up! You have got to moisturize. Cocoa butter is great for pure moisturizing power. Find a rich, balanced moisturizer containing cocoa butter and apply it regularly. It is best to apply it right out of the shower - our skin is very receptive at that time. Be generous with the amount - it will absorb. If you can, apply it twice a day. This is a great way to bond with your partner too - have him rub the stretch mark cream into the belly! If you already have them, there are ways to get rid of stretch marks. There are products that can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Most work by helping to stimulate production of collagen and elastin in the skin, aiding in the repair of micro tears and visible marks. Please remember, it is important to recognize that there are many stretch mark creams available on the market. Many should not be used during your pregnancy. If you are trying to prevent or get rid of stretch marks, please talk to your doctor before using any product that may contain chemicals that may affect your baby. Something Borrowed, Something Blue

By Paul Duxbury It is a time-honoured tradition that is supposed to bring the bride good luck that she should carry or wear something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Each one of these items represents something different and can fairly easily be incorporated into the brides clothing in several different and interesting ways. The tradition goes back centuries and is still honoured by many brides today who are want to ensure a little extra bit of luck for themselves or who want to honour a tradition that has been passed on in their family for years. Wearing something old is said to express the desire to retain your connections with your family after you enter into your marriage and begin your own family. One lovely way in which to do this is to wear a locket with a picture of your grandmother on her wedding day inside, which will remind you of your family and keeps them close to your heart. Another charming way to wear something old is to have a handkerchief used by one of your ancestors sewn into the lining of the skirt of your wedding dress. Incorporating this item into your wedding dress as a permanent feature is a special way to ensure that you will always remember your family and that they will always be a part of the new family that you and your husband create and which carries on the family into the future. The tradition of wearing a new item on your wedding day reflects the fact that you and your husband are creating a new union that will endure forever. There are countless ways to incorporate something new into your attire. If you decided to have a picture of your grandmother on her wedding day in a locket that you wear, you might want to think about putting a photo of you and your husband to be into the other side as your new item. Another new item to consider is a piece of jewellery, besides your engagement or wedding ring that was given to you by the groom such as a necklace or bracelet. This is a special way to wear something new because it expresses the love that you and the groom have for each other. Wearing a borrowed item on your wedding day is used to symbolise your love and admiration for the person from whom you borrowed the item. Wanting to wear something that belongs to a loved one lets them know that you want to include them in your wedding in a very special way by wearing something that either is held very dear to them or is something that represents them symbolically. One way to include a borrowed item into your wedding is to ask to borrow a friends signature piece of jewellery. If you have a close friend who has worn the same necklace for as long as you have known her, you might consider borrowing this particular necklace for your wedding day as a reminder of your friendship assuming of course that they dont want to wear it to attend your wedding! Wearing something blue on your wedding day is a symbol of fidelity to one another. It may sound as though incorporating blue into your wedding attire is a difficult task but it really is much easier than it might sound. One easy way to do so is to wear a necklace with a blue stone which is a beautiful yet inconspicuous way to wear blue on your wedding day. Alternatively you could chose to include blue flower in your headdress. Some brides also opt to wear a blue garter under their wedding dress as their blue item. Brides have been honouring the tradition of wearing an old, a new, a borrowed and a blue item during their wedding for many centuries. Although wearing these items is supposed to symbolize luck for the bride, they are also just a lovely tradition that gives the bride an opportunity to express her admiration for special people in her life. Weight Loss -The South Beach Diet

By Michael Russell One of the latest diet crazes is the South Beach Diet. Dr. Agatston, a leading cardiologist, created the South Beach Diet. His aim was to improve his patients’ heart health, but he discovered that as a “side affect” his patients were losing a lot of weight. He claims that it isn’t a low-carb or a low-fat diet, but a diet that focuses on eating the “right” carbs and the “right” fats. The South Beach Diet is based on the glycemic index. The diet restricts carbs in the first two weeks and then gradually re-introduces those carbs with a low glycemic index. He also recommends trading saturated fats with unsaturated fats. The South Beach Diet generally follows the same idea as other glycemic index diets. First a little background; when we have eaten, the carbs are then broken down into sugar, thus raising the sugar in our blood. In response to the higher glucose level, the hormone insulin is released from the pancreas to remove the sugar from the blood. If we eat foods that are rich in carbs, we get a rapid increase in blood sugar, then our pancreas releases a large amount of insulin to counter it. This in turn causes the blood sugar to drop rapidly and you feel a lack of energy, and then you crave more carbs and the viscous cycle continues. If it keeps up then you are likely to gain weight as a result. In addition, your body becomes resistant to the action of insulin. When your body reaches this point then your body becomes more effective in storing the fat. So in phase one of this diet, most of the carbs are restricted, this gives you body a rest from the cycle. This is supposed to resolve the insulin resistance. The banned foods would be bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, fruit, milk, sweets, sugar and alcohol. The focus on the phase one part is to eat lean meat, chicken, fish and eggs. In this phase it is said that you can lose up to 14 pounds. In the phase two part of the diet low GI carbs are gradually reintroduced. This would be most fruits, whole grain bread, cereals, pasta and skim milk. You are supposed to stay in this phase until you reach your target weight. In phase three, you can reintroduce a wide variety of foods. In this phase you are supposed to keep your weight steady. This phase is designed to be life long. In all of the phases there is no limit for portions, just eat enough to satisfy your needs. Actually snacking is advised, as long as you snack on the appropriate food in your phase. The extreme carb restriction in the first phase requires some serious will power. You may feel weak. Also you won’t be getting your daily requirement of fruits and veggies so you may be missing out on vitamins and minerals. Also when you restrict all the carbs in this phase you are getting rid of a lot of good sources of fiber, vitamins and minerals. However nutrition experts are generally in favor of diets based on the glycemic index. Overall this diet generally follows the basic principle of healthy eating. The result should provide plenty of the nutrients one would need to stay healthy. Hinduism

By Aaron Schwartz Hinduism is one of the oldest religions of the world and one of the major religions in India. It has affected a lot of spheres of life such as culture, art, architecture education not only in India, but also in many countries of the world. Even nowadays it determines the way of life and value system of many people of the world. Later this religion became popular all over the world and now we can find the representatives of Hindu in many countries of the world. Caste system which has influenced and even now does the history of India originates from Hinduism. Nowadays about 80% of population in India is Hindu. The word Hinduism originates from ancient Persian language. At those ancient times it meant the people who lived on the other side of the Indus river and the system of beliefs of those people. Now those people got the name of Indus Valley Civilization and they are defined as representatives of Indo-Aryan culture. Later the name of the inhabitants of the Sindh province was extended and represented all the inhabitants of the country. There is no certain basic event which could be called the starting point of Hinduism. Traces of this religion can be found in the most ancient civilizations approximately 2500 B.C. Unlike most other religions Hinduism wasnt founded as the teaching of one person. It was gradually developed through the centuries. Religions heritages of Hinduism is contained in Vedas collections of scripts written between 1500 and 500 B.C. Vedas contain the description of basic beliefs and the developments of Hinduism. There are a lot of trends and schools originated from Hinduism but most of them believe in a supreme spirit called Brahman and in reincarnation of our immortal soul - Atman. The final step of Atmans development is its unity with the eternal soul universal energy Brahman. Hinduism is now just set of customs and beliefs its a way of life which must make true your religion. Main life principles of Hinduism include satya and ahimsa. Satya means being truthful to the others and to you and ahimsa claims no injury way of life. To practice ahimsa adepts of Hinduism must avoid by any means any mental, physical and emotional hurt to all living creatures Every individual practicing Hinduism must follow the dharma religious and social duty and do everything possible to achieve moksha liberation from the circle of life and death. Dharma is usually seen as a quest of the physical world to the human and the ability to find and follow your way in life. All the events are defined by karma low. This low represents the moral low of cause and effect where every our action causes certain result and we are responsible for all our deeds and even thoughts and everything done comes back to us and makes us work is out again and again. The principle of Brahman is a central notion of Hinduism. It includes the belief that all the parts of the world and the realizations of the highest universal energy Brahman and seek to come back to it as parts try to join the whole. There are now definite frames and dates in Hinduism and division for periods is conditional but still there are several stages to be defined in the process of creation and development of this religion. One noticeable thing about the stages is that they are closely related with the external and internal event of the life of India and all the invasion and changes in the life of its people was reflected in the system of beliefs. First period is called the Vedic and covers the time between 2000 B.C. - 400 B.C. when the secret writings the Vedas were composed. The teachings we can read in the Vedas existed for centuries in oral form before it was written down. In 1000 B.C. Late Vedic period ends and Post-Vedic period begins. There are four books of the Vedas the Rig-Veda, the Sama-Veda, the Yajur-Veda, and the Atharva-Veda. Each of them contains four parts -Samhitas or Mantras, Brahmanas, Aranyakas, and Upanishads. Samhitas contained the hymns and prayers to the gods, Brahmanas explained technicalities of the rituals, Aranyakas contained the set of rules for hermits and saints and Upanishads are written in the form of the dialog and contain mostly the main concepts of Hinduism. This is the period of formation of Hinduism its basic customs and traditions thought it was changed and modified through the centuries. New historic events brought changes to all spheres of life including religion. These changes were not very rapid ones and took several centuries and new period of Hinduism religion can be called the logical continuation of the previous stage. And also it reflected the graduate change from the polytheism to monotheism in India. By the sixth century B.C the Vedic gods were in decline among the people and monotheism dominated since than thought all the old gods were not forgotten of course and appeared in the mythology and tellings. Starting from the 400 B.C. Indo-Aryans tribes settled down in the towns and villages having changed their nomadic way of life. They have brought their religion to the North India where it has fused with the authentic beliefs of the original inhabitants. This began a new period of Hinduism called Epic or Classical period which lasted between 400B.C. and 600 A.D. Two greatest Hindu Epics were created during this period. They include the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. The Ramayana is a story of noble prince Rama and his attempts to save his wife Sita kidnapped by the demon Ravana. The Mahabharata describes the battle between two families the Pandavas and the Kauravas. Both epics show the heroes originating from the royal families and show the honor and pride with which the heroes follow their dharma and proving the teachings of Hinduism. Prince Rama was honored as one of Krishnas incarnations and added to the pantheon of gods. To this period belongs also one of the most popular writings of Hinduism - The Bhagavad Gita, The Song of the Lord. Its philosophical work, a part of Mahabharata where Krishna and Arjuna discuss the basic questions of existence and religion. Next period covers the time between 600 A.D. and 1800 A.D. There is no key event that differentiates it and it was distinguished later by the scholars. It continuously develops the previous ideas of Hinduism along with some news. Its the Medieval Period and there are three major characteristics of this period. First of all devotional movements were developed. These movements got the name bhakti and with there development a lot of religious centers of Hinduism and temples appeared. Another noticeable event of this period is an appearance of different schools of Hindu philosophy. There can be differentiated six most popular ones - Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Samkhya, Yoga, Purva-mimamsa, Vedanta. Nyaya deals with the logic thinking and gives the explanation through the analyses. Vaisheshika concentrates on the world nature and its characterization. Samkhya surveys the starting point of the existence and the development of the Universe. Yoga is a number of physical and mental exercise which leads to the perfection of the individual and gives the understanding of the world. Mimansa and Vedanta interpret the Vedas. All these schools use different ways to achieve one ultimate goal to reach moksha and to join Brahman highest spirit. The sectarian scripts Tantras have also appeared during this period. They were created by Saktas people who worshiped the goodness Sakti and contained mantras, mandalas and yoga techniques aiming to obtain the liberation. All the methods of this teaching are collected in the book of The Tantras. The Tantra teaching became popular and nowadays its regarded sometimes like a separate teaching and got its successors. About 1800 A.D. a new period of Hinduism began. It lasts till present times and is called Modern. New ideas came to India and have broadened the outlook of the Hinduism successors and of course it has influenced all spheres of life including religion. The changes were rapid and influenced all the spheres of life and the discontinuity in the development of Hinduism can be traced here. Its realized though the mixture of beliefs and religious trends and the change in the consciousness of people. The result was an appearance of new movements inside Hinduism in 1800s. Ram Mohan Roy founded the Brahmo Samaj–Society of BrahmaSwarup in 1828. He wanted to reform Hindu religious practice as there were a lot of things that he considered odd and even dangerous for the adepts of Hinduism. In his temples there are no images, pictures and statues of the deities as they distress attention from real faith by his mind. He also protested against, caste disabilities, child marriage, women’s property and much thanks to his effort reform in legislative system were made. The Arya Samaj (Society of Aryans) was founded by Swami Dayananda in 1875. He regarded the Vedas as main source of Hinduism and leaned only on those secret scripts in his teachings. He assimilated the ideas of karma and reincarnation but opposed polytheism and sacrifices. Samaj is a democratic organization without regular priests. Nowadays Hinduism finds a lot of ways of realization and new schools appear along with the classic religion with the traditional set of values and beliefs. The idea of Brahman is a central notion for all the trends and schools and it stands for divine entirety which finds its realizations in the forms of our world and the goal of each creature is to join this entirety finishing the circle of suffering forever. There are several modern examples of sectarian worship such as the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (the Hare-Krishna Movement), the Swaminarayan Religion, and the Sathya Sai Baba Movement. Some Bridal Shower Favors

By Gail Leino Every guest who comes to a big event such as the shower will expect to receive some sort of bridal shower favors. Small trinkets or items that cost little to nothing at all but make each guest feel special and cared for. Depending on the number of guests you will be having at your bridal shower you can make all of the favors by hand or purchase lots of small gift type items to give out at the shower. Popular handmade shower favors include everything from food to craft items. Many brides and their shower planning friends get away with making small food treat bags as favors. Popcorn balls are cheap and tasty and can be wrapped easily with a sheet of cellophane and some ribbon. One or two muffins wrapped in a similar manner make great treat favors to hand out as well. Some couples are really big into gardening and can utilize that hobby in their party planning. Flower and vegetable seed bags are also inexpensive but creative handmade favors. You can hand mix your own special blend of wild flower seeds from larger packets and wrap them in cellophane. Tie the mini bag with a ribbon and attach a small dried flower to accent. You can make up seeding directions and print them out on nice paper to make the gift tag attached to each of the bags. Purchased favors include special teas, candles, and even bookmarks. When purchasing small gifts for your favors think about the theme of your party and your personal preferences. The bridal shower favor is a special gift that represents you, your fianc and should reflect your personalities. You may wish to purchase special champagne or cocktail glasses to fill with drinks for your guests and then they can take them home afterwards. Or those who have a love of luxury can give a little to their friends in the form of bath and body sets.
